Should you judge a book by it's cover ?
I was asked to speak at the Vascular Birthmark Foundations conference last year on growing-up with a facial difference. In the picture (above) I make the point that you can judge a book by it's cover - "Algebra" But you should not judge people by what you see on the outside... besides unlike a book you are in control of your "content". That is my message - no matter what other may say or think only you can control your content. That "content" is the stuff that is really important the "right stuff" within you. It is true for everyone... if you have a facial differences or not. When you have a facial difference you often feel self-conscious about being "pre-judged", stares become part of your everyday life. What is it like to have a facial difference ? watch this short video from Changing Faces |
